meet the people
behind the marketing.
we're soph and shauna. we've spent years inside the industry learning exactly what doesn't work, and we built socialogy to fix it. this is who we are and why we do what we do.

how people actually think
we're soph and shauna, the two people behind socialogy. between us we bring years of experience across some of the uk's leading agencies and in-house marketing teams, working with brands across retail, education, sustainability, and beyond. we've planned campaigns, managed budgets, built strategies from scratch, and spent enough time inside the industry to understand exactly where it falls short. we're also both working towards phds researching how information spreads and how people engage with it, which means the thinking behind what we do goes deeper than most. socialogy is what happens when that experience and that research get pointed at a real problem: businesses that need serious marketing support but have never been able to access it in a form that actually fits them.
soph taylor
co-founder
soph has spent her career at the sharp end of digital marketing, from integrated campaigns at mccann to running entire marketing departments solo. she holds a first class degree in marketing and is working towards a phd in how information spreads through social media. strategic, hands-on, and direct, she brings the kind of experience that makes things actually move.
shauna coates
co-founder
shauna has spent three years shaping brand voice and content strategy across b2b and b2c audiences, growing social followings and building content programmes from scratch. she is working towards a phd in climate misinformation, research that keeps her thinking carefully about how messages land and why. rigorous, considered, and always focused on what actually connects.
why we started socialogy
after five years working across agencies and in-house marketing teams, we kept seeing the same thing: businesses with real potential being handed templated strategies that didn't fit them. the service was never truly malleable. it didn't adapt as the business evolved, didn't flex when priorities shifted, and rarely felt like it had been built for that specific business rather than retrofitted from something that worked somewhere else. the gap between what businesses actually needed and what agencies were delivering was consistent, and it was avoidable.
socialogy exists to close that gap. we work directly with you, without the layers, without the lock-ins, and without the pretence that one size fits all. every business we work with gets a strategy shaped around them, one that can grow when they grow, pause when they need to pause, and change when the market does. that's not a selling point. it's just how marketing should have worked all along.
