meet the people
behind the marketing.
we're soph and shauna. we've spent years inside the industry learning exactly what doesn't work, and we built socialogy to fix it. this is who we are and why we do what we do.

how people actually think
we're soph and shauna, the two people behind socialogy. between us we bring years of experience across some of the uk's leading agencies and in-house marketing teams, working with brands across retail, education, sustainability, and beyond. we've planned campaigns, managed budgets, built strategies from scratch, and spent enough time inside the industry to understand exactly where it falls short. we're also both working towards phds researching how information spreads and how people engage with it, which means the thinking behind what we do goes deeper than most. socialogy is what happens when that experience and that research get pointed at a real problem: businesses that need serious marketing support but have never been able to access it in a form that actually fits them.

sophie taylor
co-founder
soph has spent her career at the sharp end of digital marketing, from integrated campaigns at mccann to running entire marketing departments solo. she holds a first class degree in marketing and is working towards a phd in how information spreads through social media. strategic, hands-on, and direct, she brings the kind of experience that makes things actually move.
shauna coates
co-founder
shauna has spent four years shaping brand voice and content strategy across b2b and b2c audiences, growing social followings and building content programmes from scratch. she is working towards a phd in climate misinformation, research that keeps her thinking carefully about how messages land and why. rigorous, considered, and always focused on what actually connects.
everything you do is marketing.
the outfit you pick, the way you move through a room, the words you choose. it all communicates something before you've said a word. we figured this out properly when we spent eight months travelling southeast asia and india together. watching how perception forms instantly, how culture shapes communication, how showing up with intention changes everything. it made us better at what we do and more certain about why we do it.
soph and shauna have been best friends long before they were business partners. socialogy wasn't a calculated move. it was the natural conclusion of two people who cared deeply about the same problem and trusted each other completely to go after it. that foundation is what makes the work different. there's no internal politics, no competing agendas. just two people fully invested in doing this properly.
how we actually work
no hidden layers, no guesswork.
transparency first
we tell you what works and what doesn't. we outline what you need to know upfront and keep you informed consistently throughout. no jargon, no fluff, no hiding behind complexity.
you set the pace
some clients want weekly updates. some want to hear from us only when something matters. we work to your preferences, not ours. as much or as little communication as you need.
we do the work ourselves
you'll never be handed to a junior account manager or someone learning on your time. when you work with socialogy, you get soph and shauna. that's the whole point.
why we started socialogy
marketing has an accessibility problem. it feels like a big commitment before you've even started. you either hire someone and spend months getting them up to speed, commit to a long-term member of staff, or hand your business to an agency where you'll end up working with whoever's available rather than whoever's good. we've both been that junior team member on a big account. we know what it looks like when someone is going through the motions. when it's just a job rather than something they actually care about getting right.
socialogy exists because we saw the relationship most businesses have with marketing and thought we could do it better. you get the experience of people who have worked for big agencies and with big clients, with the motivation of founders building something for themselves. people who chose this because they believe in it, not because it was the next step on a career ladder.
